Day 6!! Today was all about setting up your autoresponder. There are many autoresponders that you are welcome to use, but for P2S training, John uses Aweber. An autoresponder is a simple yet effective email marketing tool which allows you to send a series of scheduled follow-up emails to your subscribers. A couple of the popular ones used are GetResponse and AWeber.
John walks you through step-by-step on creating your list for blog visitors who opt-in to receive updates from you… You then setup your confirmation welcome message. A confirmation message is a message sent to people who opt-in to receive updates from you to confirm their email address. By confirming their email address, it helps to keep your email list healthy. You then setup a follow-up email that is automatically sent once someone confirms their email address. Again, I know it seems like there are so many steps and a bit of techy things, but let me assure you that the way John walks you through the steps, there is no way you can mess things up.
After you create your follow-up message, it’s time you connect AWeber and your blog together. This step was so very easy. Well… Actually, thank you to OptimizePress, setting it up was just a few clicks. Too easy!! Once both AWeber and your blog is communicating, you then setup the sidebar where your opt-in form will go. Then the moment of truth!! You test your opt-in form… Success!!
